Persimmon
Here’s a list of fruits that can easily be mistaken for persimmon (Pictured above) due to their shapes, colors, or textures:
1. Apricots
Apricots are small and round with smooth, velvety skin in shades of orange and gold. Their size and color resemble a mini persimmon, especially firmer or underripe ones.
2. Tomato
Firm, round tomatoes—especially orange or heirloom varieties—can easily be mistaken for Fuyu persimmons. Their size, color, and glossy skin are nearly identical at a glance.
3. Canistel
The canistel, or egg fruit, has a golden-yellow to orange color and can be slightly pointed, resembling a ripe Hachiya persimmon. Its skin is smooth and its shape often confuses people unfamiliar with either fruit.
